Family and Child Sessions

How flexible are you with energetic kids, family members that are “camera shy,” and including pets?

Being parents and pet owners ourselves, we have much patience with kids and pets and we understand that each child has their own personality.

Can you do home visits/backyard photo shoots?

Yes, your home is unique and creates an atmosphere where we can incorporate your style and personality in our photo sessions. Children and pets feel comfortable in their homes.

What should my family/child wear?

We suggest sticking to solid colors. Consider the location your family will be photographed and think about colors that complement that environment. Check out our guide for suggestions and ideas.

Maternity Sessions

When should I schedule my maternity session?

We recommend that you schedule your maternity session in the last trimester of your pregnancy.

Where is the ideal location for a maternity session?

Do you have a special place where you feel calm and relaxed? We enjoy customizing your session by meeting you in your favorite place or the comfort of your home. Our studio provides a relaxed comfortable setting.

What should I bring to a maternity photo session?

We encourage the baby’s father and other siblings to be in the photo. Bring some baby items that are special to you, a blanket, favorite newborn outfit, rattle, etc. Also bring comfort items that have helped you through the pregnancy, a special book, jewelry, a favorite mug.

Newborn Sessions

When should I schedule my newborn session?

Newborn sessions are best scheduled in the first two weeks of your infant's life. Babies change even in the first few weeks of life.

Where is the ideal location for a newborn session?

It's all about the baby now. Wherever your baby is most comfortable. We love personalizing photos in the baby's nursery or the comfort of your home. If you want to venture out, our studio sessions are focused on you and your baby, allowing you time to nurse, calm the baby, and change diapers if needed.

What should I bring to a newborn photo session?

The focus is always your little one, but feel free to bring family members to add to the joy. Father, siblings, and even grandparents are encouraged to share the love. Keeping outfits simple is best. We start with your favorite outfit and see many outfit changes your newborn tolerates. We suggest bringing wraps or blankets, stuffed animals, rattles, or any nursery favorites to bring to the session.

Pet Sessions

How do you tame active/excited pets?

When your pet comes in for the session, we allow them to get used to their surroundings. We don’t remove their leash right away until they can sniff around and become comfortable. When the time is right we take off their leash, position them, then we have a wide range of noises that we use to get their attention. We offer treats as a last resort.

What kinds of pets do you photograph?

Yes, we encourage you to be in the photo with your pet. Pet owners love their dogs and it shows when they are being photographed with them. Be prepared to be in a few images.

Can I be in the photo with my pet?

We photograph all types of pets. Dogs are the most popular, but yes we photograph cats, birds, reptiles, and even farm animals and horses.

Our general rule is to keep it simple. Solid colors, earth tones are suggested. We recommend bringing at least two outfits. One that mom wants you to wear and of course your favorite outfit. Check out our style guide for suggestions and ideas.
